WISCONSIN FAMILY ANNOUNCES DOCUMENTARY OF 90 DAY AMISH JOURNEY
20 February 2019 – Montello, WI – A family of six is giving up modern life and technology to go Amish for 90 days. They will share their journey through documentary-style videos this summer, starting on June 1, 2019. Join the Mann family on their journey of sustainability as they fully embrace the Amish lifestyle. Now on Kickstarter, you can pledge your support and be a part of the journey yourself by bringing the documentary to life.
“Imagine you wake up one day, you go to the grocery store and the shelves are all empty,” remarked Jen Mann, the Mann family matriarch. “The average person wouldn’t be able to survive for a few weeks (and that includes our family). It’s amazing and pathetic that today, with all the progress humanity has made, absent someone essentially feeding us (a grocery store or restaurant), most of us would be dead in a matter of weeks if we had to fend for ourselves. But not the Amish.“
In June, the Mann family will give up their electricity, appliances, smartphones, cars and more, and convert their entire home to an Amish homestead. While billions of people live dependent on technology and the conventions of a modern lifestyle, the Mann’s will trade their minivan for a horse and buggy, study the Bible, and learn to speak Amish/Pennsylvania Dutch phrases—all while documenting the journey.
Through generous contributions from supporters via Kickstarter, the Mann family’s experience of returning to the homestead and embracing the Amish lifestyle will be made possible. Based on your pledge, you may have the opportunity to name a chicken, schedule an Amish on-site visit or tour, or get access to the 90 Day Amish documentary DVD. Help support the Mann’s, so they can purchase the essentials for life off-grid, including a horse and buggy for transportation, Amish cook stove, dairy cow, kerosene lamp lights, and a new camera to film their weekly videos. The Kickstarter campaign will run until April 1st, 2019.

At the end of the 90 days, the Mann family will decide if they want to remain Amish or go back to their old way of life. Throughout the 90 days, they hope to inspire others to live simpler, more sustainable lives through the experiences they share with people like you. Do not miss your chance to be part of the experience and see for yourself what an off the grid lifestyle in today’s modern world may mean for you.
